Systems Engineer I

Required Skills:  Minimum three years CCA design experience required, including test development and production support experience related to the fabrication and assembly of electrical circuit cards. Mentor Graphics Design Architect experience and command of circuit simulation and analysis tools (PSPICE, Analog Workbench).  Knowledge of analog design and analysis, general knowledge of digital circuitry and interfaces.  Knowledge and use of lab common equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzer, etc). Field Engineer II - AEGIS SYSTEM

Details: Hiring for these positions are dependent upon Contract funding.Job Description: Raytheon's IIS Field Services Solutions is currently seeking Field Engineers for anticipated requirements to support the AEGIS Program.   AEGIS Field Service Representatives (FSRs) work closely with the Raytheon Services Solutions and logistics to solve technical and material issues. They represent Raytheon and Raytheon interests while supporting other major contractors, U.S. Government as well as U.S. Navy. They install, test, operate, maintain, repair and modify complex radar systems (SPY-1) and the MK 99 Fire Control System (FCS) in support of the delivery of new construction warships to the U.S. Navy. AEGIS FSRs must be able to: Accept assignments that require from one to six months at sea on board US Navy ships in support of AEGIS Systems. Travel extensively to support ORDALT installations and technical assists. Operate, maintain, align, troubleshoot and repair SPY-1D, SPY-1D(V), & MMSP Transmitter Equipment and Fire Control Systems (FCS) on board US Navy Aegis Class destroyers (DDG-51 through DDG-90, DDG-91 through DDG-112, DDG-113 and follow on systems) utilizing state-of-the-art test equipment and operational readiness test systems. Participate in the installation and planning phase of shipboard equipment. Analyze equipment failures to determine root cause in order to then recommend and implement corrective action. Perform ordnance alterations (ORDALT) and change incorporation notices (CIN) to the radar. Perform intricate backplane and chassis wiring modifications as well as mechanical modifications to all FCS & SPY hardware. Prepare and submit reports of equipment discrepancies and possible solutions. Provide guidance and training to Navy technicians on all facets of the SPY radar and MK99 FCS. Devise and implement preventive maintenance programs and actively keep performance and maintenance records on equipment.    Required Skills: At least six years experience working with the AEGIS Weapon System Aegis "C" School on AEGIS SPY-1D & SPY-1D(V) Transmitters. Aegis "C" School on AEGIS FCS Transmitters & DCC MK15  Working knowledge of electronics, tools and test equipment. Working knowledge of radar coolant systems and repair of same. Complete understanding and application of Radar concepts and principles. Full knowledge of industry practices. Technical writing skills to maintain AEGIS documentation, provide feedback reports to Program Management & Quality Assurance, and provide solutions to a variety of complex problems. Should possess excellent verbal communications skills and know how to orchestrate job tasks between multiple group organizations. Ability to take charge and work with minimum supervision. Transmission Engineer

Details: Transmission Engineer: Technical Engineering Raytheon NetOps and Information Solutions is seeking a Transmission Engineer that translates mission requirements and transmission problems into solutions employing current state-of-the-art communications system equipment and software. The solutions may consist of local, satellite, wide area, fiber, cable, wireless media or some combination thereof.  The TE defines interaction/interface between different categories of requirements, and develops appropriate design to support the requirements while employing transmission systems standards and methodologies. The candidate may specialize in one or more types of media through the III level and thence to the full range of discipline. Satellite communications transmission engineering may continue as an individual discipline through principal level. How To Take A Stand Against Workplace Bullying

This is a true story:  An assistant accidentally dropped a file of papers on the floor at a staff meeting. Her manager exploded into a tirade of profanity and called her “stupid” in front of her horrified colleagues. The manager did not apologize then or in the days that followed. Within a month, the assistant quit the job but not before visiting her doctor for treatment for stress. In addition, she spent that month (on company time) searching for a new job.

When my student shared this story with my class, she was embarrassed and even though the event happened more than a year ago, it was obvious that it was still very painful to recount.

I asked my class of 25 assistants if any of them had experienced anything similar and 21 hands shot up including mine. A few called out, “I got fired, too.” Several others shouted out along with them.

Assistants: You are not alone. This story is all too common and there is simply no excuse for it.

The demands of today’s workplace are pressured enough without additional angst caused by staffers acting out their stress in the form of yelling, public humiliation and throwing things.

What’s the fix? We must decide to break the silence and to no longer tolerate workplace bullying. We must speak to the elephants in the room and let our senior management leaders know what is going on so that they can take action.

We pay a very high personal price if we stay silent to bullying. Companies pay a very high price, too, in lower productivity and a revolving door of staff.  If you are sad, angry, depressed and stressed out, is it possible to do excellent work? Absolutely not. That is reason enough to figure out how to change this destructive dynamic.

Here are five steps to take when speaking up to a workplace bully:

1. Choose your moment.

2. Be calm, clear, and direct.

3. Get the person alone.

4. Prepare and practice what you are going to say.

5. Have specific examples prepared. “I want to speak with you about what happened in the meeting on Tuesday. We need to work with each other respectfully, so let’s talk about how we can improve our communication with one another.”

Speaking up lets bullies know in no uncertain terms that they are being held accountable. At the very least, it changes the dynamic and breaks the pattern. You gain self-respect and increased confidence, especially if it works, even just a little. That’s big and a great start.

Only by addressing the issue of bullying in our workplace head-on will we be able to slow down the destructive behaviors that are chasing good people away. It’s time.
