Details: Employee Engagement & Communications Specialistsat senior and support levels (short-term)  About UN World Food ProgrammeThe United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide.  The mission of WFP is to end global hunger.  Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need. In emergencies, WFP gets food to where it is needed, saving the lives of victims of war, civil conflict and natural disasters.  After an emergency, WFP uses food to help communities rebuild their shattered lives.  Present in nearly 80 countries, the organization has the global footprint, deep field presence and local knowledge and relationships necessary to provide access to nutritious food and contribute to the lasting solutions, especially in many of the world’s most remote and fragile areas.  In 2012, WFP assisted 97.2 million people, mainly women and children, in 80 countries, which constituted about 53% of global food aid. WFP’s greatest strength is its dedicated people working tirelessly around the world to reduce hunger, often under difficult conditions where security threats and risks to personal safety are considerable.  The global context in which WFP operates is rapidly changing which means the need for effective people management is becoming important than ever before.  The organization is committed to revamp its HR function to a strategic business partner.  To achieve this, we need more outstanding HR professionals to get involved and contribute to a key moment in WFP’s history - for the first time, we are setting up a strategic HR capability to enable WFP to meet its vision of zero hunger. About the roleWe are currently recruiting Employee Engagement & Communications Specialists (for 11 months) at senior and support levels to enable our HR transformation.  These roles will be responsible to create a strong employee value proposition by driving employment engagements through the design, development and execution of targeted interventions involving a strong change and communication element. Key responsibilities  Develop and deploy a compelling employee engagement strategy to enable delivery of the new people strategy. Develop an effective employee communication strategy which strengthens employee engagement across the organization. Create and execute successful communications programs that strengthen leaders, managers and employees’ understanding of WFP’s new people strategy and values, as well as to enable the HR transformation journey. Provide guidance on ways to promote collaboration and social networking tools, help HR leverage digital and multi-channel approaches to employee communications using technology to reach a diverse and global employee audience. Work with key stakeholders to effectively land the new HR programs being planned, to ensure leaders and managers own employee engagement, and linkage between employee engagement and business performance are clearly understood.
