Welding Engineer

Details: We are assisting a well-respected client of ours in filling a welding engineering position in the western Detroit suburbs.  This is an excellent opportunity specifically for welding engineers with substantial experience working in a manufacturing environment with resistance and/or MIG welding processes.This position involves long-term travel (2-6 weeks at a time) to different company facilities, heading up product launches for individual plants.  Strong candidates will have anywhere from 2-25 years of experience, specifically with resistance welding.  The engineer must be available and willing to maintain a busy travel schedule for at least 2 years, after which promotion opportunity is available to the corporate office or any preferred plant location.  Responsibilities include working with the OEM to understand product specs, communicating needs to suppliers, and working cross-functionally across the plant to prepare the product lines for launch.  Our client would consider hiring a recent graduate with internship experience in resistance welding, a welding engineering degree and solid academic performance.
