Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Responsible for managing a staff of quality assurance personnel for day-to-day quality operations for packaging and inspection operations. Details: Plan, organize and supervise the daily operations of the microbiology laboratory including but not limited to all associated testing activities, nonconformance management, change management, validation activities and project related activities. Medicare Patient Financial Services Representative

Details: GENERAL SUMMARY: The Patient Financial Services Representative performs a variety of duties and responsibilities related to the billing and collection of the hospital accounts receivable.  This includes primarily the control of all revenue and transactions on the hospital billing system, as well as its’ coordination with all other related hospital systems and departments.  Individuals assigned this classification will perform some or all of the duties listed as required. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.    Research, analyze and bring account balances to final resolution by performing necessary transactions as required. Typically, these transactions are defined as: Billing/Rebilling Payment Adjustment Charge Follow-Up/Collection  2.    Initiate contact with, and respond to inquiries from, a variety of external sources (insurance carriers, employers, case managers, patients, auditors, attorneys, physicians, etc.) in the collection and follow-up of billed hospital services. 3.    Initiate and/or prepare primary and secondary billings to third party payers; secures and provide necessary documentation for obtaining claim payment; appropriately inquire; transmit, annotate and perform necessary transactions on all systems utilized in the billing or collection process (e.g. MediPac, ADT, Access, HART, DDE, CIS). 4.    Answer telephone or mail inquiries from patients and other internal/external customers or representatives to answer questions and address problems regarding billed hospital services.  Research accounts to determine cause of problem and resolve, and/or makes appropriate referral in order to resolve account balance and satisfy inquiry. 5.    Work exception and error listings associated with maintaining and processing the hospital receivables such as insurance rejections, overpayments/refunds, bill errors, misapplied/unapplied payments and charges, and returned checks. 6.    Identify and make recommendations for bad debt, charity and administrative write-offs. 7.    Comply with all billing and collection regulatory requirements mandated by the government and other third party payers, and monitor payer compliance according to contractual agreements, make appropriate contractual allowances/adjustments to account balances based upon contracted reimbursement rates. 8.    Collect data and assist in compiling/preparing management reports for statistical and productivity purposes. 9.    Monitor and balance all system interfaces to hospital billing system, contacting appropriate departments when exceptions/problems occur, and take necessary action to make corrections or reprocess information. 10.    Review all hard copy and electronic claims submitted to third party payers for accuracy and completeness, make necessary additions or corrections in order to facilitate prompt payment.
