Methods Engineer

  • Individual that has business analysis with coding or development experience; someone who can conduct analysis; write codes; and pull reporting.

Consultant Data Sciences

Details:

Position Description:

The Data Sciences and Solutions department within Biometrics is responsible for global consistency of medical data; structure, content and meaning, acquisition, storage, retrieval, interchange and representation. This requires an in depth understanding of data collection, data flow definition and management, data quality, data technology, data archiving and internal and external data standards.

This role will develop data strategies and solutions to deliver data required to answer the scientific questions raised during the drug development lifecycle of Cardiovascular assets. Understanding and incorporating various techniques, approaches and data sources in the strategy will be essential to meet the current and emerging business needs; e.g. adaptive designs, tailored therapeutics, quantitative pharmacology, external clinical, medical and claims databases, and electronic health records.

The Consultant - Data Sciences is responsible for providing technical leadership and scientific ownership for a particular data asset or data domain. There are three broad applications of this role:

  • Data domain leadership: focused on understanding and guiding the organization on utilization of a particular domain of data, e.g., pharmacokinetic data, health outcomes data, patient claims databases, etc.
  • Molecule/indication leadership: focused on providing leadership to the development of a novel molecule or indication for which data strategy, standards, etc must be pioneered as the molecule/indication passed from early to later phase development. (Phase 0 to Phase 3)
  • Therapeutic area leadership: focused on providing leadership to the global commercialization and stewardship of assets in a given therapeutic area as these assets pass out of development and into commercialization and decline and as integrated safety databases, regulatory and litigation responses, and asset history become the prevalent concerns.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB

Data Strategy (25%)

  • Develop, communicate, and drive implementation of a global data strategy aligned with the global clinical plans for a data asset throughout its lifecycle, including early development, registration, globalization and commercialization, scientific data disclosure plans, brand council, external dataset, etc.
  • Define, implement and be accountable for a lifecycle management strategy for the data asset (particularly focused on collected and formatted observed data), including that the structure, content and meaning, acquisition, storage, retrieval, interchange and representation of the data are documented, well understood, and person-independent, and that Data Sciences and Solutions is able to respond to questions from our business partners about the data at any time.
  • Develop and ensure that deep knowledge of internal, external and regulatory requirements/expectations (MQA, CSQ, MHRA, FDA, ICH, GCP, CDISC, PhRMA, etc.) relevant to the data domain are understood, well communicated, and applied to data deliverables and global data strategy, and influence external organizations to further Lilly interests in the industry.

 

Data Quality, Standards, and Delivery (20-25%)

  • Ensure that the data strategy, quality definitions, and data standards necessary to meet the objectives of our business partners are well defined, communicated, and adhered to by all personnel working with the data. This includes but is not limited to ensuring that a quality definition document is created and that observed dataset locks adhere to this quality definition before datalocks, access/export to Statistics, PK, physicians, or other parties.
  • Consult during the design and execution of clinical trials to ensure the development of the trial is consistent with the global data strategy.

 

Data Solutions (20-35%)

  • Proactively drive the use of data processes and tools to accelerate the development of a data asset.

 

Process Improvement (10-25%)

  • Continually seek and implement means of improving processes to reduce cycle time and decrease work effort to maximize the return of the investment (i.e. technology purchases, data strategies, etc) of the assets/domains managed.
  • Represent Data Sciences’ processes in cross-functional initiatives.
  • Actively participate in shared learning across Data Sciences and Solutions.
  • Work with partners to increase vendor/partner efficiencies.

 

Asset Protection (5%)

  • Understand the confidential nature of company information and takes necessary steps to ensure its protection. This includes understanding various aspects of Privacy as it relates to the data managed within Data Sciences and Solutions.
  • Ensure that an appropriate confidentiality agreement has been executed before disclosing confidential company information to CROs or other outside parties.
  • Accept obligation to Lilly for compliance to the integrity of the company.
  • Complete readings of any policy/procedure updates including global medical, Data Sciences and Solutions, and local policies and procedures.
