Bioprocess Engineer II

Details:

Responsible for improving process efficiency and product quality for reagent manufacturing. May be involved on cross functional teams within manufacturing or as part of New Product design transfer teams.  Works on complex problems requiring an in-depth evaluation of various factors and root cause analysis. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments, and may provide guidance to other lower level personnel.

1.      Analyzes and solves problems in Production and Quality Control.

2.      Develops manufacturing methods and processes. Ensures new manufacturing processes can be scaled-up to produce products within specifications.

3.      Evaluates technologies for reliability, reproduction capability, consistency, and cost effectiveness.

4.      Develops validation protocols for manufacturing equipment and processes. Ensures validation of equipment and processes, evaluates data and writes reports.

5.      Develops test methods and protocols.

6.      Establishes and characterizes special test reagents and reference standards.

7.      Reviews and signs off on QC data that fails QC tests. Evaluates failures, writes Variance Reports (VR's), presents recommendations to Material Review Board.

8.      Evaluates product history, recommends revisions to product specifications, originates Change Orders (CO's).

9.      Interfaces with Product Development, Research, and Production to bring new technologies, methods, and tests into Manufacturing.

10.   Trains Chemists in new processes and procedures.

11.   Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements. Participates as required in training on regulatory issues affecting own area of work. Brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management.

        12. Promotes a safe work environment. May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment. Participates in Environmental Health and Safety programs. QM Principal Engineer - Reliability

Details: The QM Principle Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that quality standards and objectives are consistent with corporate policies, government regulations, international standards and standards of the medical device industry as applicable. The position will work with new product development instrument platform efforts and will be responsible for developing and performing reliability tests on instruments and sub-systems to assure or improve product reliability.  The reliability position is accountable for the applications of system reliability data analysis which includes life data models, accelerated life test models and initiation of continuous improvement projects.  The position requires the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks utilizing a high level of written and oral communication skills.  Good electromechanical, reasoning and judgment skills are necessary to ensure the appropriate balance of quality, compliance and business needs.  Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality standards and protocols. 

General Responsibilities include:

 

1.  Maintain FDA (Food & Drug Administration) and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) regulatory requirements. Key elements of focus are (but not limited to) product design for manufacturability, reliability, customer complaints, assembly and test, inspection and validation throughout the development process.

2.  Lead design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis for new product development and/or design change with focuses on both the user/patient and the design/manufacturing process.

3. Collaborates with R&D and acts as a sole contributor to conduct reliability assessments, develop and identify design reliability risks and reliability test plans to take appropriate corrective actions for effectiveness and reliability growth testing.  Leads reliability activities on programs from proposal to development through production phases. 

4. Supports the coordinated integration of new products into Manufacturing / Operations.

5. Ensures BD Diagnostic Systems divisional, departmental policies, procedures, practices and facilities are in compliance with all applicable regulatory policies.

6. Responsible for reliability planning, reliability test fixture development, reliability protocols and reports, and reliability reporting.

7. Provide technical support for supplier selection and supplier quality evaluations for reliability assurance.  Assist R&D and manufacturing in development of quality control plans and assessment of supplier's ability to meet designated specifications.

8. Develop and execute test plans to increase product reliability.

9. Lead internal investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions.  Perform failure analysis on production assemblies, sub assemblies and/or components.

10.  Support activities of the Material Review Board.

11. Other emerging responsibilities as identified and assigned.


Design Assurance Engineer: Specials (304382-578)

Details:

This position is responsible for the Design Assurance engineering responsibilities. The position will report to the Design Assurance Manager. This position is responsible for providing quality engineering and design assurance expertise to cross functional teams supporting new product development and selected sustaining or Specials projects in Orthofix. Summary

Objectives of the Engineering Rotations:

The EDGE program is designed to help engineers gain the following experiences during their developmental assignments. Developmental assignments will be established to ensure that the participant is:

  • Given significant and increasingly challenging professional responsibilities
  • Exposed to at least two EnPro divisions
  • Prepared to add value in all rotations, and subsequent positions at the program’s completion
  • Required to provide written performance assessments at the end of each assignment to ensure proper growth
  • In addition, technical coaches, mentors, and managers will be responsible for assisting in the EDGE participants’ technical and leadership development during the program

Exposure to Manufacturing Processes and Testing Laboratories:

The EDGE program will involve working in advanced manufacturing facilities with state-of-the-art test and measurement equipment, as well as research and testing laboratories. The EDGE participant will have the chance to learn from the existing processes and modify or create new ones.

Manufacturing Engineer (2012436)

Details:

Provides general manufacturing and specific process expertise to continuously improve yield, throughput, quality and safety of manufacturing operations. Leads projects to implement new products, processes and materials into the production phase in order to improve cost competitiveness and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists with piloting and release of new customized products, prototypes or processes introduced to the manufacturing floor through the change control processes.
  • Develops mechanical design and drafting of production jigs and machinery.
  • Performs cost studies to determine lowest cost of manufacturing and coordinates the implementation of these changes.
  • Performs work break-down and takt time analysis to determine best manufacturing process break-down and layout.
  • Generates engineering process instructions and sketches.
  • Validates dimensions utilizing CAD software and documentation related to new products, such as manufacturing drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
  • Conducts troubleshooting / failure analysis of current products.
  • Communicates with internal and external customers, suppliers, other company personnel providing technical expertise and counsel as required.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and rectifies product performance issues.
  • Prepares materials and other relevant product specification for internal Company use.

Details: Genesis10 is seeking a Performance Engineer for a 9 month contract position with a global financial leader in Minneapolis, MN.

Description:


The Performance Engineer will support complex enterprise architectures by serving as a technical subject matter expert and an enterprise advocate for performance.  Responsibilities:

  • Provides comprehensive analysis ensuring technology designs meet and/or exceed end user requirements.
  • Utilize best-in-class load, stress and analysis tools to model performance in the production environment.
  • Recommend and initiate tuning and optimization activities, resolve complex technology bottlenecks, and assist with the diagnosis/resolution of performance and capacity related problems.
  • Recommends, deploys and documents performance solutions for complex software/hardware/network engineering installations and issues, based upon comprehensive and thoughtful analysis of business goals, objectives, requirements and existing technologies.
  • Independently identifies and recommends robust technology performance solutions utilizing pragmatic judgment, creativity, and in-depth technical knowledge and evaluation that comprehensively meet the needs of the business.
  • Drives extensive load, scalability, stability, and stress tests utilizing industry standard benchmarks, tools, and custom developed frameworks.

Overview:

• Provides professional engineering support for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) planning and support for Contractor-supported locations, facilities, and equipment within the designated strategic (fixed), tactical and mobile facilities or mission equipment shelters and in related supporting systems inside or outside the secure areas. Provides testing and balancing services and support for air and water systems.

Mandatory skills and requirements:

• Current TS//SCI clearance and access or current DCID 6/4 eligibilitydetermination.

• Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.

• Ten years diversified professional engineering experience including Application engineering for mechanical equipment with experience in design, installation, operation, and maintenance of automatic control systems, supervision of plant operations, maintenance, and repair of physical plant systems and equipment, including large-scale HVAC plants and distribution systems, and resident engineering experience on construction projects with large, complex, and highly sophisticated HVAC systems.

• Experience with Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems, Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) system development, Configuration Management (CM), Quality Assurance (QA), Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), engineering, material management, and maintenance activities.
