Must be fork lift certified.Receives, stores, maintains, issues and ships material using a bar code system under the direct supervision of at least a Head Material Handler. WORKING ON METERING PROJECT; processing 30,000+ meters using a hand held computer/device; because of this customer would like us to test candidates on data entry. Highly desires candidates with basic to intermediate typing skills to ensure no data entry errors on handheld device. Candidate will also assist with ensuring the warehouse is clean, may paint, and other duties as neededESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: -Receives material by unloading trucks and inspecting material for physical damage. -Ships material to other locations; prepares material, posts necessary logs. -Transports material among various warehouses and other locations. -Handles new and used equipment and materials in a safe manner; prepares repairable equipment for repair. -Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, banding machines and other tools in a safe manner.-Maintains physical condition of warehouse dock and yard area to ensure a safe working environment. -Use computer systems dealing with communication. -Use Bar-code System to put away(store), pick, and cycle count (Levels 3,2,and Top Rate only) LIMITATIONS: -Warehouseman at any level may not: -Open or close a warehouse. -Operate cranes or booms. EDUCATION: -HS diploma or equivalent knowledge of Reading, Writing, English, Mathematics, and Grammar. EXPERIENCE: -9 months experience in warehouse operations and forklift certification plus demonstrated reliability, an aptitude for warehouse work and teamwork. During this period, material handling equipment certification will be obtained and operating experience will be gained. -On-the-job training under the oversight of Journeyman Material Handler-Demonstrated knowledge of materials, material handling equipment certification and task proficiency in one or two duty areas. ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES: -Ability to learn materials management and purchasing procedures on receiving, storing, maintaining and issuing material. -Ability to use bar code system. -Ability to check material for quantity, physical condition, weight capacity, and maintain logs. -Ability to check transformer for leaks and relocate tagged transformer for repair. -Ability to perform basic mathematics. -Ability to learn hazardous material handling procedures-Ability to operate and inspect material handling equipment. HOURS: 7:30 TO 4PM WITH A 30 MINUTE LUNCH; GIVEN A 15 MINUTE BREAK IN THE AM AND PM; MUST WEAR STEEL TOE BOOTS AND SAFETY GOGGLES AT ALL TIMES; MUST HAVE FORKLIFT CERTIFICATION ON HAND AT ALL TIMES EMAIL:   About Kelly Services®Kelly Services, Inc.
