Instructional Services Librarian

Details: Coordinates Library Instruction, teaches library instruction, works at Reference/Circulation Desk, responsible for collection development in assigned area, and participates in the marketing and promotion of library services.Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorks with Lead Medical Librarian and other support personnel to plan, implement and evaluate library reference and instructional services. Takes the lead in working with faculty to develop new programs and strategies to support classroom learning and class assignments. Assists with coordination of services to on-site and distance users. Coordinates library instruction: Receives and responds to requests, arranges for class instructor, and puts classes on the staff Outlook calendar. Oversees collection of library instruction statistics and evaluation data. Works at Reference/Circulation desk daily, one night per week, and on rotating weekends, usually 3 per semester.

Instructional Assistant

Details: Assists faculty in classroom instruction–both technical and pedagogical support, assists in preparation of instructional materials for all class levels and when applicable provides office and program organizational support. Assists in technical hardware and software support for all program specific Apple Macintosh Computer Labs, Communication Design faculty workstations and Communication Design Program specific studio/classrooms. The Communication Design Program consists of four full-time faculty, three to eight adjunct faculty, and a student headcount of approximately 400. The program offers 15 or more courses, many of which have multiple sections each semester. Students are taught graphic, interactive, web, and multimedia design on Macintosh computers and high-end specialized graphic software applications. A general to advanced understanding of five or more specialized graphic software programs used in the Communication Design Program is required. Administrative support for the college, division and program with regards to assisting in purchasing, and health and safety issues. Specifics: Software – Current versions of the Adobe Creative Suite, Apple iLife Suite, Macintosh Operating System.
