The position also provides opportunities for the selected individual to learn and expand into other areas of the company.Primary responsibilities for this position will include:• Lead the departments to meet goals, budgets and quality levels.• Select, train and coach employees to provide for a strong positive team environment.• Manage the plant continuous improvement program centered on driving improvements in cost, productivity, quality, team member involvement and moral.• Maintain strong employee relations through various proactive formal and informal departmental communication strategies• Troubleshoot and resolve daily issues in cooperation with Quality, Scheduling, Maintenance and Sales.• Consistently apply company policies and procedures.Successful candidates will have 5 + years experience supervising/managing distribution operations. Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing or business preferred. Experience with implementing and managing Lean Manufacturing & 5S Principles, safety requirements, and continuous improvement programs/projects preferred. Exposure to Six Sigma Principles and Green Belt certification is a plus. This individual will have excellent problem solving skills, the ability to handle multiple projects as well as strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with a wide range of employees to meet departmental goals. Logistics / carrier management experience a plus.
