Sr. Systems Engineer

Details: Responsibilities: The Sr. Systems Engineer works as part of a Team that is responsible for planning and executing of the integration of Internet-based products and services for the Company into a complex data center and network environment in an efficient, secure, scalable, reliable, and cost effective manner.Primary responsibilities include implementation and support for Internet based solutions developed for these business units. This includes any content delivery systems, hardware configuration, custom software implementation, database administration, network and systems design, performance and process improvement, and systems documentation. The ideal candidate would be proficient in systems management and application deployment automation through authoring and maintenance of Python, Perl, and Shell scripting as well as experience implementing and maintaining enterprise configuration management solutions such as Chef. This position is also responsible for planning and executing small-to-medium scale projects within the Technical Operations Team. Typical projects would include new business unit initiatives and updates to existing products and services that require planning, incredible attention to detail, and flawless execution.

Details: The candidate will work for the David Sling Weapon System Missile Firing Unit program.  The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited degree program working towards a degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, math or a scientific field (such as physics).  The candidate must be available for a minimum of ten weeks between May and October although longer term commitments are preferred.  Additionally, the candidate must be able to work easily within a team environment.  The candidate should be a self-starter, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.  Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extra-curricular projects is a plus.  The candidate should have strong technical aptitude as shown by strong grades or hands on mechanical and electrical hardware experience.Specific responsibilities will vary by skill set and experience but tasks performed may include conceptualization, detailed design, analysis, and overall mechanical and electrical integration of such items as A/C and D/C power systems, switch and relay control assemblies, housings/enclosures, and various interconnect systems.Required Skills: The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited degree program working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a scientific field.
