PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES: Setup and operate various conventional machine shop equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, vertical and horizontal saws to produce and detail a variety of small parts, ranging form simple to complex, which are within prescribed tolerances and hold to finishes specifications. Work with priority listings to complete fixtures as required for production floor. Accurately read 3 dimensional drawings and blueprints and be able to setup manual machines to within tolerance specified to produce products/fixtures. Operates Computer Numerical Control (CNC) vertical mills, and lathe with Fanuc controller. Performs machine set-ups, adjusting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut, to machined parts to specifications set forth in blueprints, drawings, engineering orders, etc. Checks machined parts for conformance to prescribed tolerances . May be required to operate numerical control machines. Make edits to CNC programming at machine controls if needed. Some manual machining may be required as well. Able to design machining fixtures using CAD software and obtain engineering approval Setup and operation of mill (vertical or horizontal), and/or lathe CNC machines Ability to use micrometers, calibers , other measurement instruments Experience reading G-codes Ability to trouble shoot CNC machines Interpretations of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) Ability to ready and interpret blueprints, engineering plans / specifications Team player, and ability to lead team / provide mentorship to work teams Specialized Job Responsibilities may be required for certain positions.
