Details: Preschool Teacher We are currently seeking an experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team in Fremont, CA.Job Description The Preschool Teacher is professionally prepared as a teacher of young children, especially in the field of early childhood education and/or child development; meeting the requirements of licensing agencies and accrediting organizations. The teacher is a warm, sensitive, mature individual who relates well to children and adults would be ideal for this position.Job Responsibilities: Staff Development & Classroom Supervision. The Teacher will: Supervise class, train and support assigned teaching assistants, aides and student Provide ongoing feedback to Interns/practicum students, input for the evaluation process.Attend regular staff meetings. Assist in making arrangements for substitutes and/or teach classes in the absence of the lead teacher, and assist in the classroom when needed. Prepare and effectively communicate lesson plans for substitute and have necessary materials available. Assist in the development and evaluation of age-appropriate curriculum that meets the school's mission. Assist in planning Winter,  Spring & Summer Preschool programs Communication and Leadership. The Teacher will: Effectively communicate with the school board, parents/guardians, students, student teachers, volunteers and maintaining student confidentiality at all times. Attend workshops and conferences as negotiated with supervisor and school board to maintain/update educational requirements for licensure. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Classroom Expectations. The Teacher will partner with the program administrator to: Plan yearly curriculum with staff prior to the start of school year. Develop and prepare high-interest lessons and activities for each day of class -- according to the particular age group. Vary lessons -- teacher lead vs. child lead. Encourage and guide children as they interact with activities and with each other. Become familiar with parents and family members of children. Share pertinent information with them concerning their own child. Conduct assessments of each child within class (fall and spring). Prepare information to share with parents during conferences. Assist staff with clean-up, room arrangement and organization of material as needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all the responsibilities listed above: Supervise upkeep of all educational equipment and materials in assigned area. Maintain progress records of each child's growth and development Prepare periodic reports and individual development plans, review with supervisor and parents. Work with parents to promote understanding of their child's growth and development; encourage parent participation in school programs; attend parent group and Center functions. Conduct regular formal and/or informal parent/teacher conferences on each child's school adjustment, classroom behavior, and developmental progress. Effectively train, supervise, and utilize classroom assistants and primary floaters. Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times. Contribute to Staff in-Service Training by planning, leading, or assisting in a workshop presentation or by developing resources.
