This is done through testing, trials, and data collection. The position includes writing specifications for new materials and tools to be used in the system. The Materials Engineer is also responsible for material quality assurance, which is accomplished through on-site manufacturing inspections, incoming material sampling inspections and material analysis and reporting of in-service material failures. This position will also evaluate new technologies and assist in the implementation, tracking and reporting on status of the technology being introduced. JOB RESPONSIBILITES:  Functional Expertise: Evaluates new materials to be introduced into the system to verify material characteristics and that factory settings/testing are in compliance with applicable industry standards (e.g. ASTM and API) and Code requirements. Ensures material quality by conducting statistical sampling of incoming materials and comparing the results against the product requirements specified in the purchase order. Develops material specifications of products approved for use in the system. Specifications are attached to material purchase orders. Oversight and project management of required material analysis programs (e.g. Mechanical Fitting Failure Analysis/Forms/DOT reporting, Plastic Pipeline Data Collection samples/forms) Administers the Defective Item Program and conducts root-cause analysis of materials deemed defective or to have failed and writes report of findings. Business Acumen: Identifies and evaluates new technologies and materials in an effort to improve system integrity and achieve greater efficiency in the field activities being conducted. Prepares cost-benefit analysis on the impact of new technology on field operations.  Engagement: Coordinates field trials of new products or materials. Prepares communication plan in regards to the introduction of new products, changes to existing products and material failure analysis response. He/she oversees supervisors, administrative staff, and hourly employees within the department. Operations Supervisor-Part-Time-UPS Freight

Details: UPS Freight, a leader in the LTL trucking industry, is currently seeking a part-time Operations Supervisor to produce maximum profit while providing excellent service to the customer. This individual oversees and is directly involved in more than one of the following operations; dock, P&D, and Road Dispatch, including, but not limited to, customer service, productivity, quality freight handling, claims prevention, load average, and safety. Details: Position: Director – Asset Lite Operations Job Description: The Director of Asset Lite is an operations management position responsible for the on-going management and continued growth of the truckload freight brokerage group. This position requires broad and thorough knowledge of North American ground transportation and carrier procurement knowledge. The Director of Freight Brokerage must be a high energy “self-starter' and be able to react quickly to changing market conditions. The position must be able to communicate well with executive management as well as customers and carriers. Develop and execute a strategic plan to start up and expand an effective carrier brokerage service offering and identifying target client markets. Provide leadership for the freight brokerage operation and manage departmental performance using a range of objective operational and financial measures. Build and train a staff to support client/carrier development. Manage the development of a truckload carrier database and recruit carriers into the brokerage network. Negotiate and administer carrier contracts and rates in conjunction with the Purchased Transportation team. Develop process to identify routes, lanes, continuous moves, round trips, etc. to build brokerage opportunities. Identify freight patterns and alternatives to routes and points of interchange. Skills: The Director of Freight Brokerage must have demonstrable expertise in the following areas: Knowledge of all modes of transportation, including comparative differences between various modes. Experience with truckload posting boards and transportation brokerage companies. Knowledge and experience with contract law.
