Sr. Research Tech

Details: The Sr. Research Technician is a contract position responsible for independently contributing towards the development and characterization of new polymers and materials, including the design, planning, execution, and analysis of experiments with the cooperation and general direction of a more senior Research Scientist/Engineer. Responsibilities include: ? Tool and Die repair, maintenance and new

Details: Candidate will be required to maintain, sharpen, rebuild, repair press dies to support Roll Forming operations. Design ability a plus but not a requirement. Press dies in roll forming are termed as Cutoff Dies, Prepunch Dies, Punch Press dies for some secondary operations. Cutoff dies and prepunch dies operate on the fly on die slides while our minor secondary operations are stationary. Tolerances unlike molding dies and extrusions for operation on the fly as parts move thru. Similar to progressive stampings except no staionary punching occurs with flying dies so tolerances, lead in and out are different. Stamping die experience is helpful as the closest work done like Roll Forming. Roll Forming refers to the roll dies that gradually bend the metal while the flying prepunch and cutoff dies also include inline holes, slots, notching etc.. Mid level experience is the minimum amount required.
